This 2024 Special Edition revives the iconic 1969 'Checker Flag' design with a distinctive petrol blue dial and racing-inspired checkered unidirectional bezel. The 42.5mm stainless steel case houses Seiko's in-house 4R36 automatic calibre, which features manual winding, hacking seconds, and a 41-hour power reserve. Additional specifications include a day-date window at three o'clock, Lumi Brite hands, and 100 metre water resistance suitable for daily wear and recreational diving.
The case back is engraved with "Special Edition" branding and features a screw-down exhibition window. A curved Hardlex crystal protects the dial, whilst the unidirectional rotating bezel facilitates timing functions. The watch offers magnetic field resistance to 4,800 A/m and maintains the characteristic SKX-style proportions, with a 46mm lug-to-lug distance ensuring comfortable wear across various wrist sizes. Supplied on a three-fold stainless steel bracelet with screw-link adjustments.
